News from the Office:
- MOPS is hosting a Yard Sale on April 6, 2024 to raise funds to support their childcare program. They are currently recruiting people to join the sale. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
A Special Invitation from Forcey Bible Church:
Forcey Bible Church would like to provide for two couples within our FCS community to attend Family Life’s Weekend to Remember marriage event from April 26th-28th in Reston, VA! The first two couples to express interest in attending will receive free registration for the event. From the ministry’s website: No marriage is static. Each day, each choice — you’re either moving closer together, toward oneness … or coasting farther apart. At the intersection of a faith-based marriage conference and romantic retreat from everyday life, Weekend to Remember helps couples do just that — choose oneness. Whether you’re sending up an SOS for marital rescue or looking to foster an already flourishing connection, Weekend to Remember is your best next step toward being, and staying, one.” https://www.familylife.com/weekend-to-remember/ If interested, email office@fcs.school with “Weekend to Remember” in the subject line.
PTO Update:
A note from our PTO president, Tanisha Nanor:
- It’s hard to believe that we are already in the month of March. There are just 3.5 months left of the 2023/2024 school year. I want to encourage my fellow parents to join me in finishing the year strong with our school year theme in mind – A Life of Service! Let’s come together to show our young people, what our theme verse looks like in action: “Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” ~1 Peter 4:9-10. We have plenty of areas open to lend a hand. You can set your own commitment time and consistency rate that fits your schedule. It can be as small as an hour of service to a one-time volunteer opportunity.
- We are in need of volunteers in the following areas:
- Servers for our popular Pizza Fridays.
- Volunteers to help with our family fun Spring Fling on Saturday June 8.
- Volunteers are needed to serve on our PTO board for the upcoming school year.
- Volunteers are needed to help us appreciate our teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week on May 6-10.

- Pizza Friday Dates for the Semester are: 3/15, 4/19, 4/29, 5/10, and 5/24. Please mark them on your calendar.
- Questions about the FCS PTO, email pto@fcs.school or visit https://fcs.school/pto/
Mark Your Calendar
- Keep up with important dates on our website calendar all year long at https://fcs.school/calendar.
- The end of the third quarter is Friday, March 22, 2024. No third-quarter work will be accepted after this date. This is also a half day for students.
- March 25-April 1 is Easter Break. School resumes on Tuesday, April 2.
- IOWA standardized testing week is April 15-19. Do your best to have your children in school that week and arrive on time. Late students will not be permitted in class until the class finishes any pending assessments. Make up-tests are time consuming and students miss valuable classroom instructional time during make up testing. Make up testing for sickness will only be scheduled with a doctor’s note. Make up tests for travel will not be scheduled.
- Saturday, May 4 is our annual Fundraising Gala to benefit the FCS Annual Fund.
- May 6-10 is Teacher Appreciation Week.
- Saturday, June 8 is our annual Spring Fling Community event sponsored by the FCS PTO.
Please consider signing up for a volunteer spot for one of our upcoming PTO events. We so appreciate our PTO volunteers and cannot have these special events without them. We want to guard against burnout and desire for all to participate to make the load lighter. Thank you for your consideration! https://fcs.school/pto/pto-fundraising/
