In the Beginning . . .

In the 1970’s a group of pastors, elders, deacons, and concerned church members decided to provide a quality, Christian education to their members and the surrounding neighborhoods. Today, Forcey Christian School is a multi-accredited school with a diverse student population of more than 500 students in PK3 through 8th grade.

History

1977

FCS opened under Principal Diane Taylor with 41 students enrolled in preschool and kindergarten. Each year a new grade was added, up through grade six.

1986-87

During Christmas vacation, parents, teachers and students helped with the move into a new, much-needed, three-story Education Wing.

1989

FCS completed its expansion to two classes per grade. Ken Roussey became principal.

1995

Forcey Christian Middle School was founded and housed in a temporary building on-site, with Principal Tim Rockafellow. The following year the middle school moved to Calverton Baptist Church.

1999

Zeke Wharton became FCMS principal and in 2004 the sixth grade became part of the middle school.

2007

Full-day kindergarten was offered as an option for parents.

2008

Forcey Christian School and Forcey Middle School merged under Administrator Wharton and Principal Roussey. With 538 students, we were more than ready to fill a second, newly-built Education Wing.

2010

Erriel Roberson was hired as principal.

2013

After a rigorous independent screening process, FCS received full accreditation from both the Association of Christian Schools International and the Middle States Association.

2014

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program begins in Middle School.

Girls Middle School Volleyball was added to the FCS sports teams.

2015

Mr. Todd Landers was named Administrator.

Middle School Cross Country, Track and Cheerleader teams began.

2017

Cheri Vislay was named Acting Principal and Rev. Zeke Wharton served as interim Director of School Development.

2018

Cheri Vislay is named Principal and DeHavon Scott is hired as Assistant Principal.

Boys and Girls Basketball have a FCS record-breaking season with a combined record of 61-0.
